FEGENTRI 2026
09-12-2025
Fegentri gives opportunities to amateur jockeys to enjoy race riding abroad. This year Matt Brown and Teagan Padgett have enjoyed a successful Fegentri year representing GB, as well as Ellie Holder who represented GB over jumps in The Gentleman’s League. Matt Brown excelled winning the Silver Spur for the Gentlemen as official runner-up to the Gentleman Fegentri World Champion – a fabulous achievement.
Fegentri offers a unique chance to see the world of international racing first hand and for 2026 (unlike previous years) applicants will be asked to self-fund their travel, as sadly through financial constraints the BHA are no longer able to provide this. We are most grateful to them for their past loyal support. Each host country provides internal travel costs as well as accommodation. The Fegentri experience opens up a whole new world of amateur racing, presents challenges whilst combining racing plans in the UK, and gives the opportunity to meet like-minded people, form friendships and enjoy unforgettable experiences.
If you are interested and would like to represent your country in either the FEGENTRI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FOR LADY RIDERS, the FEGENTRI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FOR GENTLEMEN RIDERS or the jump element of Fegentri – The Gentlemen’s League (which gives limited opportunities to both Gentleman and Lady riders to ride over obstacles) and are able to fund your own travel, then this is for you.
Applications are invited from amateur jockeys who must have ridden a minimum of 5 winners (preferably under rules but one or two can include point-to-points/Arabian races) with ladies able to ride easily at 58 kg (9 stone) and gentlemen ideally at 62 kg (under 10 stone ie 9 stone 12 lbs).
