Poppy Bridgwater enjoys 1st career win with Dorothy Laird at Beverley

Beverley Racecourse provided Poppy Bridgwater with a day she will never forget when riding her first ever winner under Rules with ENGAI trained by her father David.

Always tracking the leaders, the pair made steady headway from 2 furlongs out to stay on well and draw clear by just over a length in the final furlong from Rebecca Heptonstall on David O’Meara’s SCRUTINY with previous Dorothy Laird winner CITY GROUND and Serena Brotherton  held a further length back in 3rd.
