Monday saw the reappearance of Robinshill partnered by leading gentleman amateur Zac Baker at Ludlow in the totequadpot Handicap Chase for trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies.
This was Robinshill’s 3rd consecutive run at Ludlow and his 2nd with Zac partnering him to victory here 3 weeks ago. They nearly came unstuck at the last when the horse blundered in what is now his habitual style at Ludlow, but with Zac’s long legs helping his stickability he was able to drive his horse out to go on and win comfortably by 5 lengths.
“I don’t know why why he does that at the last fence” Zac said. “He was a bit cautious but he had been out on his own a long time. It might have also been jumping out of this sticky ground.”
Well done Zac on a great win!

Well done leading lady and reigning champion Page Fuller on winning today’s Woodhurst Construction Lady Riders’ Handicap Hurdle over 2 miles at Huntingdon with STAR FOOT trained by Jo Davis.
A thrilling finish with Page having galvanised her horse into action from 3 out saw the partnership hold on by a neck to deny Irish raiders Shark Hanlon and Rachael Blackmore on last year’s victor BABY JAKE with Brodie Hampson and FOOL TO CRY just a length away third.
Congratulations to Page who forges ahead with her lead in the ladies’ title challenge, now on 7 wins so far this season.

Well done Kit Alexander riding for his father Nick Alexander on their homebred CLAN LEGEND first time out this season and winning the Attheraces Handicap Hurdle in great fashion at Hexham yesterday. They also won the Best Turned Out. (Kit previously won on this horse at Ayr back in March last year.)
John Dixon was 21 lengths second aboard PISTOL with a total of only 4 finishers from the 10 who went to post.
Many congratulations to winning connections.

Congratulations to Lewis Stones on a good ride at Fakenham yesterday when winning the East Rudham Amateur Riders’ Novices’ Handicap Hurdle aboard MULLAGHBOY for Oliver Murphy.
With a disappointing field of only 4 for this reasonably valuable race, Lewis help his horse up throughout most of the race before closing in on the leading pair of Ally Stirling aboard CHILLI ROMANCE and Hugo Hunt on BARDD as they turned for home. With his horse jumping the last the best of his rivals, Lewis then kicked for home and won by 1 3/4 lengths from CHILLI ROMANCE with BARDD a similar distance in third.
Well done Lewis.

Congratulations to Slovakian Adam Elias who enjoyed his first British success over hurdles when riding SANDHURST LAD at Plumpton on Monday for Warren Greatrex in the Plumpton Racecourse Twinned with Pompadour Racecourse Amateur Riders Handicap Hurdle.
This race produced a thrilling finish with Gina Andrews making it on ROTHMAN joined by Jordan Williams and FLANAGANS FIELD in the latter stages of the race, but Adam always had them in his sights and switched left after the last to stay on strongly and snatch victory as the three battled it out and flew past the post. The distances were a short head and a short head!
Well done Adam!

The opener of the Cheltenham November meeting, the Market Insurance Amateur Riders’ Handicap Chase, gave the day a quick flashback to 2016 with the same cast enjoying success –
🇮🇪 Richard Harding for David Pipe with WHAT A MOMENT.

Having his first run since Cheltenham Festival, WHAT A MOMENT jumped well and travelled strongly to find himself in front sooner than he may have liked, and with the field closing on him idled up the hill to hold on by half a length from SUGAR BARON and Hugo Hunt with Roger Quinlan a short head back in third.

Many congratulations to winning connections!

Every picture tells a story, and none better than this with Katy Lyons overjoyed with her winning ride for Phil York on Sunday at Fontwell Park of the Goring Hotel Handicap Chase aboard SPIRITOFCHARTWELL.
Outpaced in the early stages and ridden along, Katy drew on the horse’s reserves and they chased the leading pair to draw steadily closer and lead by 3 lengths at the last, and managed to hold off the efforts of LORD ALDERVALE to win by 3/4 of a length, with GORING ONE (owned by George Goring) 16 lengths back in third.
Katy enjoys a great rapport with SPIRITOFCHARTWELL – 2 wins and a 2nd from his last 3 runs, all at Fontwell! Well done Katy!

The annual AJA hurdle took place on Thursday at Ludlow and it was good to see Irish support with Jim Dreaper bringing over MULLAGHMURPHY BLUE with Jamie Codd in the saddle.
A steady pace was set by the field of 12 until MULLAGHMURPHY BLUE took the lead at the second last. However he was challenged and headed on the flat by BOLLIN LINE who, driven out by Aaron Anderson, went on to win comfortably by 2 1/4 lengths with Isabel Williams a further 7 lengths back in third.
This was not only a hat-trick for BOLLIN LINE but also a third win for Aaron, all with the same horse, the partnership having enjoyed Aaron’s first career win at Market Rasen back in August and success at Ludlow only a week earlier.
Winning trainer Lucinda Egerton said “I can’t believe it – he’s ten years old and is still improving. He’s fragile and tricky to train as he has to have his own way. He’s always had the talent and is really starting to show it.”
An equally delighted jockey who comes from Galway, Aaron said “I had a break from racing before coming back to ride him to victory at Market Rasen. At the time I was working offshore on a wind farm boat and nobody believed me when I said I was going to ride in a race.”
Many congratulations to winning connections!
